Side effects of birth control sometime appear in some women. You should talk to your doctor if you have side effects of birth control for more than three months. Doctor will suggest you to change a brand of birth control that contains a different dose of hormones.
Side effects of birth control usually show bleeding between the periods, bloating, nausea, headaches, decreased libido, and breast tenderness. Birth control methods can also cause non-cancerous liver tumors, but it is very rarely.
Women have a risk of having blood clots, if they take birth control pills that have estrogen. But the risk is only little for fit women. Women with high blood pressure or over 35 who smoke increase the risk of cardiovascular problems if they too many take birth control pills. If the side effects of birth control appear then they are advised to use another of birth control. Birth control pills that contain estrogen are not allowed for women who have:
1. heart disease
2. blood clots
3. stroke
4. high blood pressure greater than 160/100
5. heart defects
6. migraines
Sometimes we feel certain birth control method is just “does not feel right”. Ensure that you consult to your doctor if that is the case. Your doctor will diagnose and treat if there is some side effects of birth control.
